The Third Sector Review is the region’s premier multi- disciplinary research journal focused on examining the challenges faced by the sector and meeting the needs of academics and practitioners. It is also the house journal of Australia and New Zealand Third Sector Research (ANZTSR), the regional professional association of researchers with a focus on all aspects of the Not-For- Profit sector.

Over the 25 years since its establishment in 1995, the Third Sector Review has been successful in bringing academia and practitioners together with a focus on high quality research reporting and industry-ready outputs via its Academic and From-the-field sections.

Guidelines for contributors, editor’s contact details and other information is provided at the journal’s webpage.

Articles:

Papers should be written in a jargon-free, non- technical style accessible to managers, staff and board members of not-for-profit organisations, as well as to academic researchers, teachers and students from a variety of disciplines. Papers are subject to rigorous peer review, normally by two independent reviewers. A blind review process is adopted.

Book Review:

The primary function of a Book Review is to offer a critical analysis and informed, unbiased discussion in order to give the reader an appreciation of the relevance and utility inherent in the work under review from their perspective.

From-the-field:

It is often assumed that academic papers for journals will include a literature review, an explanation of how the research was undertaken and how the paper contributes to knowledge.

Papers From The Field are an opportunity to relax these conventions while still being research-informed, to stress implications that are relevant and valuable for practitioners, especially those in Third Sector organisations.

All:

Write in a jargon-free, non-technical style accessible to managers, staff and board members of Third Sector organisations, as well as to academic researchers, teachers and students from a variety of disciplines.
